JOB POSTINGMaintenance Worker IICASUALJob Posting Number: #2023-08-18 MAINTJob Class Title: Maintenance Worker IIEmployment Status: CASUALEmployment Hours: CASUALCompensation: As per the CUPE Local 2391 Collective AgreementCurrent wage rate: $22.75 - $23.10 / hourRequired Knowledge / TrainingMinimum Education Level: grade 10Required to perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of ECL buildings, grounds, building systems, and minor equipment.Activities may include (but not limited to) carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, glazier, masonry, HVAC servicing, alarm and fire system management, grounds maintenance, and painting tasks.The ability to read, comprehend, and interpret relevant work manuals/instructions for maintenance of equipment, property and building systems and the requirements for infection control during construction in long term care is required.Possession of a valid driver's license with additional training in the operation of tractors, mowers, and other landscaping equipment is required.Skill and ability to read blueprints and other technical documents as well as the understanding and ability to interpret technical equipment and computer registry readings is required.A degree of technical ability is required due to repairs to electrical equipment (beds, lifts, nurse call system components, etc.).Effectively and safely utilize a variety of hand and power tools, operate lifts as needed, and perform a variety of physical labour including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing.This position is physically demanding, and you must be able to lift, carry, transport, and bend as necessary.Handling and exposure to fuel, chemicals, and other products require adherence to required OHS standards and practices.This position involves working both inside and outside of the facility during both good and inclement weather.Training in asbestos management would be considered an asset.A full copy of the relevant job description is available from the Business Office.Application Process:Please submit resumes by email or fax to:East Cumberland LodgeAttention of: Barb Tower262 Church StreetP.
