Labrador-Grenfell Health operates accredited facilities including three hospitals, in St. Anthony, Happy Valley ? Goose Bay, and Labrador City, three community health centers, 14 community clinics/nursing stations and three long term care homes. Using a combination of in-person and virtual telehealth service options, the primary purpose of the Child Management Specialist is to deliver a home-based early intervention program to young children with developmental delay(s) and their families in the Labrador-Grenfell Health region; complete developmental screening tools; develop and monitorindividualized skill teaching programs; be involved with the delivery of a variety of intervention services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder; complete client reports; consult and partner with other professionals in the social, health and education fields; and provide training to care providers / support staff / community agencies as required. This position reports to the Regional Manager for Child and Youth Community Health, Rehabilitation and InterventionServices.Qualifications:Successful completion of a Bachelor?s Degree in the Social Sciences is required. Preference will be given toapplicant?s possessing a Bachelor of Psychology. Major course work in Program Design, Behavior Modificationand Early Childhood Development is required;Knowledge of home-based early intervention, child development, family centered practices, skill teachingstrategies, and task analysis;Knowledge of individualized program planning, functional analysis, developmental process, program design,treatment ethics, and behavior management techniques.Strong oral and written communication, organizational and analytical skills and the ability to work as a member ofa team;Experience in working with individuals with developmental delays;Willingness to travel throughout the region as needed; andUse of a private vehicle is required.Duties: (Includes, but not limited to)Develops and oversees the delivery of home/community based early intervention programs;Assists families and community organizations in meeting the needs of individuals with significant developmentaldelay(s), who exhibit severe behavior problems and/or who display lags in development;Assesses problem behaviors;Designs and implements individualized behavioral / skill teaching programs;Prepares technical reports;Responsible for completing developmental and behavioral screening tools;Consults with other professionals in the social, health, and education and other fields;Actively participates in the ISSP (Individual Support Services Plan) process;Provides training to care providers / support staff / community agencies as required;Other related duties as required.
