We have earned a proud reputation for civic leadership, service delivery, and outstanding employee relations.The City of New Westminster Community Services team is seeking a Marketing & Community Events Coordinator to lead marketing initiatives and support community events and activations at Anvil Centre. This role develops and delivers marketing campaigns, creates engaging communications, builds new community partnerships, and oversees community events from planning through execution.Some key responsibilities you will have include: Develop, recommend, and implement marketing plans, strategies, and campaigns to promote the wide variety of offerings at Anvil Centre. Create, edit, and coordinate print and digital marketing materials, including website content, social media, photography, video, and basic graphic design. Manage and maintain social media channels, online presence, photo database, and marketing assets, including capturing photos and videos and maintaining participant consent records. Plan, coordinate, and support community events and activations at Anvil Centre, collaborating with staff and event partners to ensure alignment with City policies and procedures. Prepare and recommend event and activation budgets; monitor and track budgets. Supervise, assign, and support the work of event staff, volunteers, and coordinate the work of event-related contractors, including performers, vendors, graphic designers, photographers, etc. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal departments, community groups, organizations, and external partners to develop and promote community events and activations, and encourage the use and access to Anvil Centre. Conduct community outreach and gather feedback to support continuous improvement of events and Anvil Centre space use. Prepare and maintain reports, records, correspondence, and other administrative documentation; coordinate and lead marketing meetings as required; participate in team and departmental meetings; and perform a variety of administrative duties related to the work. Perform other related duties as assigned.If you have the following characteristics and qualifications, we want to hear from you: You have completion of a two-year diploma program in marketing, communications or related discipline, plus sound related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
