Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Animal hospital. Tasks: Collect samples and perform other laboratory tests. Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery. Produce diagnostic radiographs. Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian. Counsel clients on animal health care. Conduct and assist in laboratory research. Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry. Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals.
