About this role

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Chicken farming. Hog and pig farming. Dusty. Noisy. Odours. Livestock. Work setting: Rural area. Staff accommodation available. Tasks: Disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses. Handling animals. Monitoring animal health. Perform livestock feeding. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Track and report on current feed inventory . Treat livestock health issues. Weaning. Feed and tend animals. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Perform general farm duties.
