Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Asset languages: Arabic. Mandarin. Italian. Swahili. Greek, Modern (1453-). Portuguese. Spanish; Castilian. Turkish. Russian. Igbo. Ukrainian. Chinese. Work setting: Private company, corporation or industry. Private practice. Litigation. Tasks: Advise clients of their legal rights and all matters related to law. Perform administrative functions related to the practice of law. Perform management functions related to the practice of law. Plead clients' cases before courts of law, tribunals and boards (lawyers only). Draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion. Negotiate settlements of civil disputes (lawyers only). Represent interests of corporation/employer in all business related to legal matters. Offer mediation, conciliation and arbitration services. Research legal precedents and gather evidence. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Membership in the Canadian Bar Association. Pega certified professional. Membership in a provincial or territorial law society. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Access. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS PowerPoint. MS Windows. MS Word. Area of work experience: Administrative law court. Law. Civil litigation. Screening questions: Do you have experience working in this field?.
