Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hay farming. Other grain farming. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Outdoors. Grain, oil and forage crop. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Negotiate with clients for provision of services. Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain quality control and production records. Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations. Maintain work records and logs. Hire and train staff. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties. Supervision: 3-4 people. 1 to 2 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Bulk handling system. Fertilizer applicator. Harvesters. Seed drill. Sprayer or duster. Storage and silage system. Tractor.
