Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment. Operate machines to join sections of garments or other articles into finished products on a piece-work or production basis. Operate sewing machines or sew by hand. Set in sleeves, pockets, collars and other garment pieces. Use sewing guides and tension devices. Cut fabric or layers of fabric to specifications. Type of materials: Cotton or synthetic. Equipment and machinery experience: Industrial sewing machine. Piping or binding machine. Serger or overlock. Single needle machine. Electric cutting knives. Sewing experience: Commercial. Garment section work. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colours. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Hand-eye co-ordination.
