Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Hog management. Dusty. Noisy. Odours. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Conduct artificial insemination and spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses. Handling animals. Monitoring animal health. Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Treat livestock health issues. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain livestock performance records. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Maintain work records and logs. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system.
