Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Install roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems. Repair roofing systems. Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools. Estimate costs and materials. Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Personal suitability: Reliability. Team player. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
