Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Senior Technical Planning Researcher. About the team: The Computing Data Application Acceleration Lab aims to create a leading global data analytics platform organized into three specialized teams using innovative programming technologies. This team focuses on full-stack innovations, including software-hardware co-design and optimizing data efficiency at both the storage and runtime layers. This team also develops next-generation GPU architecture for gaming, cloud rendering, VR/AR, and Metaverse applications. One of the goals of this lab are to enhance algorithm performance and training efficiency across industries, fostering long-term competitiveness. About the job: Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and research achievements in the industry and academic within the AI/ML domain, generating insightful technology reports. Drive the evaluation and adoption of cutting-edge AI/ML technologies and methodologies. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategic technical plans and lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of AI/ML project. Understand pain points and mid-to-long-term requirements, fostering collaborations with local university professors and industry resources for joint projects. Identify new investment opportunities, advocate for the expansion of technology teams and increasing investments. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the AI/ML team. The total target annual compensation (based on 2,080 hours per year) ranges from $127,000- $225,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.
