Our platform supports enterprise leaders like Walmart, Johnson & Johnson, Apple, Hasbro, and ExxonMobil in their transformation journeys.<br> <br>We are now strengthening our People & Culture team and are looking for a <strong>Payroll Controller</strong> to support and execute accurate, efficient, and compliant payroll operations across 13<strong> </strong>countries. This is a key role within our global HR function, ensuring employees receive timely and correct compensation while maintaining high standards of data quality and compliance.<br> <br>You will work closely with our HR and Finance teams, and external payroll providers in <strong>13 countries</strong>, integrating into daily operations and contributing to the continuous improvement of payroll processes globally. <br>If you are detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable navigating multi-country payroll environments, this is an exciting opportunity to grow your expertise in a fast-scaling international tech company.<br> <br><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br><ul><li>Own and control the monthly payroll process for employees across 13 countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.</li><li>Validate all payroll inputs (hires, changes, variable pay, benefits, leaves, terminations) and coordinate payroll delivery with external providers.</li><li>Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, social security, pensions, and statutory benefits.</li><li>Perform monthly payroll reconciliations and prepare payroll-related journal entries, accruals, and provisions in collaboration with Finance.</li><li>Support payroll accounting, reporting, audits, and month-end / year-end close activities.</li><li>Analyze payroll and salary costs, explain variances, and support budgeting and forecasting.</li><li>Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll questions, providing clear and reliable guidance.</li><li>Document and improve payroll processes, contributing to automation, standardization, and global payroll controls.</li></ul> Your profile <strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong><br><ul><li>Experience as a Payroll Controller, Payroll Administrator, or in a similar payroll role, in one or more countries (Portugal, Sweden, Germany, UK…)</li><li>Experience managing payroll in at least one of the countries we operate in, with openness to learning additional markets.</li><li>Strong understanding of payroll fundamentals: taxation, statutory deductions, pension, leave administration, and compliance.</li><li>Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work with confidential information.</li><li>Good communication skills with a service-oriented approach.</li><li>Ability to work in a structured, independent, and reliable manner.</li><li>Fluency in English.</li></ul><strong> </strong><br><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong><br><ul><li>Experience managing multi-country payroll or working with international payroll vendors.</li><li>Knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Personio or similar).</li><li>Familiarity with process documentation, audits, or workflow improvement.</li></ul> <br><strong>Note on Applications</strong><br>We encourage applicants from all backgrounds—even if you don’t meet every qualification listed above.<br>This role supports payroll across <strong>13</strong> countries.
