About this role

Your mission <ul><li>Policies:<ul><li>Establishes and maintains all relevant baseline policies for the Occupational Health Department</li><li>Establishes communication protocols with the Occupational Physician, client’s Management and all other relevant client personnel.</li><li>Assists client in the preparation of policies where Occupational Health may play a role, for example drugs and alcohol in the workplace, workplace bullying and stress at work.</li><li>Supports for maintenance of the Management System on site including their own operational control documents.</li></ul></li><li>Co-ordinates and manages the absence management programme, including the provision of medical case management</li><li>Co-ordinates and manages the return-to-work programme and rehabilitation for absent colleagues</li><li>Provides advice and support for the site Industrial Hygiene programmer</li><li>Manages the onsite ergonomics and manual handling program</li><li>Provides appropriate vaccination for employees</li><li>Provides training for:<ul><li>Manual handling</li><li>Work station set up</li><li>Blood borne pathogen awareness</li></ul></li><li>Managing shift work, health and wellbeing</li><li>Manages the First Aid Programme</li><li>Attendance to, and management of, Occupational injuries and illness</li><li>Liaising with, or referral to, the OHP regarding client employees and relevant stakeholder where relevant</li><li>Provides assistance to the client in all incident investigation and statutory reporting to government and insurance bodies and professions.</li><li>Establishes and maintains the Health Promotion and Employee Wellbeing Programme.</li><li>Responsibility for keeping up to date on all relevant legislative and statutory changes as it pertains to the health and safety of client’s employees.</li><li>Liaises with the EHS team in all relevant activities and participates in relevant ERT team training and response to emergencies</li><li>Conducts Pre Employment Health Screening</li><li>Conducts appropriate health surveillance examinations, interprets results and provides regular trending analysis to management.</li><li>Maintains medical information and records in a confidential manner.</li><li>Performs pregnancy risk assessments</li><li>Manages and co-ordinates the Blood Volunteer Programme</li><li>Supervises the duties of the on-site Medical Technician</li></ul> Your profile <ul><li>Registered General Nurse with a valid NMBI registration </li><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational health nursing. </li><li>A recognised qualification in Occupational Health is desireable</li><li>Competency in at least some of Audiometry, Spirometry, Vision screening, phlebotomy, VDU ergonomics &amp; administration of vaccines. </li><li>Excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal, empathy and listening skills. </li><li>Strong organisational and planning skills including time management with proven track record of prioritising key tasks and delivery to a high professional standard. </li><li>Strong team member with proven ability to establish and maintain effective working people relationships. </li><li>Openness to work in a new exciting and evolving space </li><li>High clinical standards </li><li>Strong IT skills</li></ul>
