We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer with <strong>3–6 years of strong experience</strong> in <strong>Java and JavaScript/TypeScript</strong>, with hands-on expertise in <strong>Playwright</strong>. The role focuses on building scalable automation frameworks from scratch, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, reliable releases. What is the role about? <h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3><br><h3>Test Automation & Framework Development</h3><ul><li><p>Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks from scratch using <strong>Java and/or JavaScript/TypeScript</strong></p></li><li><p>Develop and execute automated test suites for <strong>UI and API testing</strong>, ensuring high coverage and stability</p></li><li><p>Implement end-to-end automation using <strong>Playwright</strong> and related automation libraries</p></li><li><p>Ensure automation solutions follow best practices for maintainability, performance, and scalability</p></li></ul><h3>CI/CD & Test Execution</h3><ul><li><p>Integrate automated test suites into <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong> using <strong>GitLab CI and/or Jenkins</strong></p></li><li><p>Manage test execution, reporting, and traceability using <strong>JIRA, Xray, and TestRail</strong></p></li><li><p>Maintain automation code using <strong>Git</strong>, following best practices for branching, reviews, and version control</p></li><li><p>Support environment configuration and test setup for consistent execution across environments</p></li></ul><h3>Analysis, Quality & Collaboration</h3><ul><li><p>Analyze test results, identify root causes, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues efficiently</p></li><li><p>Improve automation reliability and execution performance through continuous refactoring and optimization</p></li><li><p>Contribute to overall test strategy, automation standards, and reporting practices</p></li><li><p>Actively participate in requirement analysis and mapping automated tests to requirements</p></li></ul><h3>API & Integration Testing</h3><ul><li><p>Design and execute <strong>API and integration tests</strong> using Playwright request context</p></li><li><p>Implement authentication setup via APIs (token/session generation) to optimize test execution</p></li><li><p>Perform contract validation, response verification, and chaining of API + UI test flows</p></li><li><p>Maintain traceability between automated tests and requirements in <strong>JIRA/Xray/TestRail</strong></p></li></ul> Required skills and qualifications <h2>Required Skills & Experience</h2><ul><li><p><strong>3–6 years</strong> of experience in test automation engineering</p></li><li><p>Strong hands-on experience with <strong>Java and/or JavaScript/TypeScript</strong></p></li><li><p>Proven experience in <strong>automation framework design and implementation</strong> (from scratch or major enhancements)</p></li><li><p>Hands-on expertise with <strong>Playwright</strong> for end-to-end test automation</p></li><li><p>Solid understanding of <strong>CI/CD concepts</strong> with practical experience in <strong>GitLab CI and/or Jenkins</strong></p></li><li><p>Experience with test management and defect tracking tools: <strong>JIRA, Xray, TestRail</strong></p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of <strong>test strategies, automation best practices, and reporting</strong></p></li></ul> Preferred skills and qualifications <h2>Preferred Skills :</h2><ul><li><p>Experience with <strong>API automation (REST)</strong> and integration testing</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with <strong>test data management</strong>, stubbing, and mocking techniques</p></li><li><p>Exposure to <strong>Docker</strong>, containerized test execution, or cloud-based CI/CD pipelines</p></li><li><p>Experience with <strong>parallel test execution</strong> and test optimization strategies</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of <strong>cloud platforms</strong> (AWS, Azure, or similar) for test environments</p></li><li><p>Experience with <strong>performance, reliability, or non-functional testing</strong></p></li><li><p>Understanding of <strong>microservices-based architectures</strong></p></li><li><p>Familiarity with <strong>BDD frameworks</strong> or behavior-driven testing approaches</p></li><li><p>Experience working in <strong>Agile / Scrum</strong> development environments</p></li></ul>
