Job summary
Tollerton Surgery is a busy, friendly rural GP practice looking to recruit a dedicated and reliable cleaner to join our surgery team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the standard of cleanliness within the practice is implemented and maintained. This is an essential role that requires attention to detail, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
This is a permanent, part time position, 2 hours per day Monday to Friday, hours may be flexible to work around availability.
Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities (full training will be provided):-
a. To provide a range of cleaning duties across the surgery and maintain cleaning standards adhering to practice guidelines
b. To follow the practice cleaning schedule
c. To ensure that the correct cleaning methods are observed
d. To use cleaning equipment in a safe and effective manner, adhering to manufacturers instructions
e. To replenish all consumable items (hand towels, toilet roll, etc.) as required
f. To remove general waste in accordance with practice waste management policy
g. To ensure all cleaning materials are stored in a safe and secure manner
h. To maintain communication and report any faulty equipment or defects as soon as practically possible
About us
Tollerton Surgery is a busy rural dispensing GP Practice with a current practice population of 3,600 registered patients. We are a friendly, hardworking and supportive team working from relatively new, purpose built premises. We have a record of good performance against local and national requirements and last year maintained our Good rating from a CQC inspection.
Tollerton Surgery is a member of a proactive and successful PCN who manage and share various specialist clinicians including pharmacists, first contact physiotherapists, an urgent care team, mental health practitioners and occupational therapists.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Previous experience of cleaning duties
Desirable
Experience working in a healthcare setting
Personal Qualities Essential
Polite and confident. Flexible and cooperative. Motivated. High levels of integrity and loyalty.
Other Requirements Essential
Flexibility to work outside of core office hour. Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English to a standard which enables the post holder to conduct the full range of duties and responsibilities.
Desirable
Car driver (due to location).
Skills Essential
Ability to follow policy and procedure and prioritise workload. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively manage stock.
