We are seeking a phlebotomist to join our practice.
Due to our practice list increasing we are seeking a phlebotomist to join our friendly and well regarded training practice based in the Centre of Dartford.
Main duties of the job
Phlebotomist duties and responsibilities
Phlebotomists must provide reassurance to patients. They must also look after the mental and physical well being of their patients. The primary duties and responsibilities of a Phlebotomist include:
Using technical equipment to safely draw blood from patients Explaining the process of drawing blood clearly to a patient Reassuring and calming patients who might be nervous or scared of the procedure Applying dressings to the wound created by drawing blood Registering the blood and storing it in the correct environment Sending blood samples to testing laboratories Keeping track of blood samples and results that are returned after testing Updating patient records Maintaining an organised and clean work area based on health and safety regulations and the guidelines of the medical institution Answering patient questions regarding collection techniques and offering additional resources on the collection process, if the patient requests them
About us
We are a busy NHS Training Practice in the centre of Dartford with approx 7,500 patients. We have 5 General Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses, an HCA and 10 members of staff within the Management, Secretarial, Reception and Administrative Teams.
Due to an increase in our practice list we are actively seeking a phlebotomist to join our friendly and proactive team on a Monday and Tuesday.
This is a part-time vacancy to meet the needs of the practice on Monday and Tuesday. Clinic times are negotiable from 8.00am to 12.00 noon.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
At least 6 months in venepucture
Qualifications Essential
Have completed a recognmized phlebotomy training course.
