Job summary
As a growing semi-rural dispensing and training practice, operating over 4 sites, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our team at Brampton Medical Practice.
We are seeking applicants who can commit to a minimum of 4 sessions per week. There is also the opportunity to discuss an 8 session role.
There is the possibility of a future conversation with the right candidate about progression to a partnership position. We offer a supportive, friendly team environment and a patient-centred approach, serving a diverse local community of around 16'700 patients

Brampton Medical Practice have 6 GP Partners, Business Manager/PCN Operational Lead and Senior Leadership Team
Salaried GP's, ANPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, Frailty Nurses and Healthcare Assistants
We have experienced & dedicated, receptionists, admin/secretarial team, Dispensary and PCN Teams who are all committed to providing high quality, friendly and personal primary care.
We are the lead practice of Carlisle Rural Primary Care Network and a member practice of the newly formed North Cumbria Collaborative/Federation. We are also a GP training practice, hosting junior doctors and student doctors.
The practice has been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Job description Job responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities:In accordance with the practice clinical rota, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including in practice consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and online and normal correspondence in a timely fashionMaking professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisationAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessProviding counselling and health educationRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCollecting data for audit purposesCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possiblePrescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateIn general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.Other responsibilitiesAwareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safetyA commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practiceContributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisationContributing to the development of computer-based patient recordsContributing to the summarising of patient records and read-coding patient dataParticipate in incentives such as Enhanced Services and QoF as directedAttending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.

Qualifications Essential
Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise and entry on the GP Register Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice / Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR), or equivalent Included on a Medical Performers List or eligible Evidence of continuous professional development

Evidence of other specialist interest /development / training
Experience Essential
Eligibility: Full GMC registration On the Medical Performers List (and never removed for a detrimental reason) Eligible to work in the UK Membership of a recognised defence union Ability to provide complete details of employment history Fitness to Practice: Up to date and fit to practice safely Health: Meets Occupational Health requirements (in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice)
Other Essential
Holds current valid driving licence or provides evidence of proposed alternative as means of providing emergency and domiciliary care to fulfil requirements. Ability to cover on call duties.
