Job summary
Killamarsh Medical Practice are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and versatile Practice Nurse to join our friendly team.
The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week
The working pattern is flexible to be agreed between the successful candidate and Killamarsh Medical Practice.
The post holder will also be expected to participate in a shared extended access rota to support service provision which take place every Wednesday and every fourth Friday.

The successful candidate will provide a wide range of nursing services, supporting patients across all age groups and contributing to the effective management of both acute and long-term health conditions.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a broad range of clinical services, including cervical cytology, chronic disease management, wound care, immunisations and health promotion activities. They will undertake reviews and management of long-term conditions such as diabetes, COPD, asthma, hypertension and ischaemic heart disease, whilst supporting patients with contraception.
Additional responsibilities will include venepuncture, ECGs, spirometry, pathology requests, vaccine administration, stock management, accurate clinical record keeping using SystmOne, and participation in home visits where appropriate. The post holder will also assist in maintaining safe and effective clinical environments.

Job Summary:
The Practice Nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing General Medical Services to the patients of Practice.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by the Practice Manager and GPs Urinalysis Patient observations, BP, weight, BMI Venepuncture Cytology Long Term Conditions Management I.e. Asthma, Diabetes Insulin initiation, COPD Spirometry Hypertension Reviews Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations Suture removal Wound Care Drug administration INR monitoring ECGs Health Promotion Travel Risk assessment and vaccination Contraception Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs Ordering of pharmaceuticals, vaccines & equipment Assist with Infection Prevention & Control Cold chain management QOF Chaperoning patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician Home visits when required Following agreed clinical protocol and helping with future development of policies Maintain clinical records Attend and participate in relevant practice meetings including clinical update, nursing team and QUEST training sessions.
