Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and patient-focused Salaried GP to join our friendly, supportive and welcoming team at Clifton Surgery for 2 sessions every Wednesday (0.22 FTE).This role is initially for two clinical sessions every Wednesday and includes clinical consultations together with the associated administrative work arising from those consultations. There may be the opportunity to increase clinical sessions in the future, subject to practice requirements and mutual agreement. For the right candidate, there is also the potential for partnership in the future.
This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking for a regular part-time role within a well-established, forward-thinking practice. You will work alongside four GP partners, two salaried GPs, experienced nursing staff and a friendly, approachable management team committed to supporting both patients and staff.
The successful candidate will undertake 12-minute appointments using EMIS Web within a collaborative working environment where your views and ideas are valued. Whether you are an experienced GP or newly qualified, we welcome applications from clinicians who are committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality primary care. We will be looking for the successful candidate to start in October 2026.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary care during 2 clinical sessions every Wednesday.
Responsibilities include:
Providing face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations with 12-minute appointments. Assessing, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions. Safely prescribing medication and signing their allocated prescriptions. Reviewing and actioning their allocated pathology and investigation results. Reviewing and processing clinical correspondence and hospital letters. Completing referrals and associated clinical administration. Maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS Web. Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective and compassionate care.

Job Summary
The post holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary medical services to the registered patients of Clifton Surgery. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will deliver safe, effective and evidence-based care while contributing to the continued development of the practice.
This role is initially for two clinical sessions every Wednesday and includes clinical consultations together with the associated administrative work arising from those consultations. There may be the opportunity to increase clinical sessions in the future, subject to practice requirements and mutual agreement. For the right candidate, there is also the potential for partnership in the future.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Salaried GP will:
Provide face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations using 12-minute appointments. Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions. Prescribe safely and in accordance with local and national prescribing guidance. Sign and action their allocated prescriptions promptly. Review and action pathology and investigation results allocated to them. Review and process clinical correspondence, including hospital letters and discharge summaries. Complete referrals to secondary care and community services where appropriate. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and confidential clinical records using EMIS Web. Participate in clinical decision-making and multidisciplinary team working. Promote health education and disease prevention where appropriate. Work within GMC guidance and NHS Wales standards at all times. Contribute to maintaining high standards of patient safety and clinical governance. Participate in practice meetings and mandatory training as required. Clinical Responsibilities

Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC). Licensed to practise. Included on the NHS Wales Performers List (or eligible prior to commencement). MRCGP or equivalent qualification. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Good organisational and time-management skills. Competent IT skills, with experience of electronic patient records. Desirable

Qualifications Essential
Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB or equivalent recognised medical qualification). Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise. Royal College of General Practitioners Membership (MRCGP) or evidence of an equivalent qualification. Entry on the GMC GP Register.
Desirable
Experience using EMIS Web. Experience of working in NHS Wales.
