Job summary
Reporting to our Community Facilities Manager, this is 1 of 2 posts based at Newton Abbot Hospital, supporting the day-to-day management of 32 staff on site, plus 2 staff in Teignmouth Hospital,co-ordinating all facilities services on a daily basis and are key postswhich are vital to supporting patient flow, maintaining our Trusts Cleaning andInfection Control Policies and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients,staff and visitors.
Main duties of the job
o Co-ordinate and monitor of the facilities services within the communityhospitals, health and wellbeing centres and other buildingso Communicate effectively with staff at all levels within our organisation, withpatients and external supplierso Participate in meetings as required e.g. weekly team meetings, monthly teammeetings and weekly operational management team briefings as requiredo Assist the Workplace Division by providing an effective cascade of informationto all Facilities Services staffo Maintain good handover processes to supervisor colleagues as part of theworking rotao Support the implementation of our Trust's complaints policy, overseeingcomplaints and compliments relating to the service and participating ininvestigations as requiredo Respond positively to external inspections, such as unannounced CQC orEnvironmental Health attendance, recognising when to escalate issues to linemanagers

Actively participate in the provision of quality assurance and performancemonitoring of facilities services
Support the Facilities Operations Leadership team to ensure all Trust andWorkforce Division targets are met for mandatory/essential training andperformance and achievement reviews Assist with promoting incident reporting within facilities operations servicesand ensure incidents are managed and reported appropriately and thatlessons learned are put into effect.
Ensure that all waste is correctly sorted into the appropriate waste streams,label and dispose of all waste streams from the ward/department, observingall relevant recycling policies and procedures and take to recogniseddesignated points Investigate and respond to customer, service user and employeecomplaints/feedback thoroughly and professionally, ensuring a robust planis in place to meet Service level agreements and patient needs whereappropriate, or escalate to the Community Facilities Manager Support the Community Facilities Manager to effectively prioritise the dailyservice and staffing allocation against agreed rotas, resolving any staffingissues on a daily basis
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Basic education to GCSE Level including English and Maths qualifications Experience of supervising and motivating teams
Desirable
NVQ3 Supervisory Management / ILM3 or equivalent qualification Experience of supervising large teams of staff in an NHS setting
