Job summary As part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership in Bath and Northeast Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW), Second Step delivers community mental health support in collaboration with Alabar, Missing Link and Nilaari. Together, were transforming mental health services by focusing on trauma-informed, person-centred, and culturally inclusive approaches.
Main duties of the job We are recruiting a Recovery Navigator to join our Access Community Mental Health Team in Swindon to work closely with individuals with moderate to severe mental health needs, helping them set and achieve personal recovery goals and connect to meaningful support within their community.

Job description Job responsibilities Collaborate with health professionals, VCSE partners, and other support networks to provide seamless experience.
Conduct support conversations using tools like DIALOG+ to create tailored, strengths-based support plans.
Deliver person-centered, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed interventions.
Use your own lived experience (if applicable) to provide hope and connection.
Support individuals with navigation around housing, employment, relationships, and mental wellbeing.
Maintain accurate and timely casework, risk assessments, and outcome monitoring.
Promote recovery, inclusion, and equity in everything you do.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
A minimum of 6 months-1 year experience working with people with mental health needs, including risk assessing and support planning Experience of providing practical and emotional support to enable the client to take up the responsibilities of their own recovery. Proven experience of working with people with multiple needs (e.g. mental health, homelessness, alcohol/drug dependency long term conditions) Proven experience of carrying out needs and/or risk assessments and the support planning process Experience of working with a number of individuals with competing needs and priorities
Desirable
Proven experience of mental health issues and/or services, either as a user, carer or supporter. Experience being involved in processes with high-risk presentations, including risk management, safety planning, safeguarding Experience delivering support to acute populations within crisis, admission or intensive community settings, including managing complexity, co-occurring needs and heightened risk.
