Main duties of the job

An enthusiastic, experienced and team focused individual to join our care navigation/reception team. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication & team working skills, have the ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions.
You will need to be able to explain sensitive or complicated information in a clear, sympathetic way that is easily understood.
Previous experience of working within a GP practice environment and a working knowledge of SystmOne would be a definite advantage.

Located on the outskirts of Ipswich town centre, Cardinal Medical Practice is the largest medical practice in Suffolk and was formed as a result of a merger between Chesterfield Drive, Deben Road and Norwich Road Surgeries. The practice is vastly dedicated to offering high quality care to a population of approximately 30,000 patients.
The practice has a clinical team of 4 GP Partners, 8 Salaried GP's, 2 GP Registrars, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Physicians Associates, Practice Nurses, Nurse Associates, Healthcare Assistants, Care Co-ordinators and additional healthcare professionals. The team is supported by Management and a large administrative team.

Job description Job responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for patients seeking advice or appointments. Signpost patients to the most appropriate healthcare professional or service based on their needs. Help patients access community, NHS, and support services. Provide information about health services, clinics, and referral pathways. Support patients with non-clinical queries and ensure they understand the next steps in their care. Follow practice protocols to identify urgent or emergency situations and direct patients appropriately.
Assist patients who may have additional needs, such as language barriers, disabilities, or long-term conditions.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Previous experience of working within a GP practice environment and a working knowledge of SystmOne would be a definite advantage.
