Main duties of the job We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Akari Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of kitchen processes in collaboration with the Cook and the catering team. Duties include creating menus, plating up, arranging trollies, and providing high-quality support and care to residents. It is vital to be mindful of individual religious and cultural backgrounds in meal preparation to ensure a personalized service. You will play a critical role as the link between the kitchen and serving areas, ensuring mealtimes run smoothly. We require individuals who can demonstrate a caring nature, be flexible and adaptable, work well under pressure, and have a warm approach. Experience in similar environments, kitchen and food preparation, and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate are required. Whilst you will be involved in all the practical duties you would expect in a busy care home kitchen it is vitally important to continuously ensure that you are mindful and conscious to individual religious and cultural backgrounds and how this might impact on meal choices, alongside making sure that all our residents feel they have a personalised service.

As the critical link between the kitchen and the serving areas you will be conjointly responsible for caring for our residents. The key focus for us is ensuring mealtimes run smoothly and are an enjoyable experience at Akari Care, where all our residents individual needs are catered for.

Experience of working within similar environment

Kitchen and food preparation experience required.

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
