Main duties of the job
What is a GPA?
As a General Practice Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our clinical and administrative teams, helping to improve patient care and the smooth running of the practice. This is a varied and engaging position that provides an excellent introduction to a career in healthcare.

You will gain a wide range of valuable skills, including:
Phlebotomy (taking blood samples) Assisting with urgent illness clinics Urine dip testing Taking blood pressure measurements Supporting clinicians with patient care Administrative and patient-facing duties Understanding how a busy GP practice operatesThe successful candidate will be enrolled onto the NHS General Practice Assistant (GPA) Programme, working towards nationally recognised accreditation as a GPA while gaining practical experience within the practice.
