Job summary
As a GP Receptionist you are the first point of contact, and therefore the face of the Practice, for our patients.
Our reception staff are a close knit team who take on the challenges daily and provide patients with the best service possible. This may be either on the telephone, face to face or via messages through our Practice website.
Ideally we are looking for someone to cover 16-18 hours per week with flexibility to provide cover for staff holidays and sickness.
Working pattern:
Monday 16.00 - 18.30
Thursday 08.30 - 13.00
Friday 07.45 - 18.30
Our team triage using an accepted tool that helps to navigate the patient to the best available resource.
As such we are seeking a Team player and someone who can communicate easily with staff and patients alike.
Main duties of the job
Dealing with all patient enquiries and navigate them in the most appropriate direction to assist them with their needs, booking appointments where required with the relevant clinician. Having good communication skills are essential both face to face and by telephone.
You will be expected to assist all clinical staff with appointment booking and handling of paperwork relating to patient referrals, test results and reports.

We are a relatively small Practice with around 5800 patients - we currently have 5 GPs, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, a phlebotomist as well as 8 Reception staff and 5 admin staff.
We are a tight knit, diverse and happy team with a pragmatic view to flexibility for all staff.
We are lucky to be situated in an easily accessible modern styled building in Cinderford with good parking for patients and staff alike.
