Main duties of the job As a Peripatetic Care Assistant with Barchester care homes, you'll deliver warm, empathetic and respectful care and support across a 20-mile radius to help our residents get the most out of life. You can expect to monitor the delivery of care, contribute to the person-centred care planning process for each resident, and record observations on things like temperature and blood pressure amongst other important tasks. The role also involves providing support and companionship. This is a full-time role of 48 hours covering days and nights, where it is vital that every resident enjoys meaningful one-to-one time with our carers every shift. A full driving licence is necessary to support all homes in the region. Candidates should have a background in care, a good understanding of elderly care, possibly a Level 2 NVQ in Health & Social Care, and preferably a C or above in GCSE English and Maths. A car or access to one is required for travel across the area, and mileage is covered when travelling over five miles from the main home. Additionally, bonuses are available for certain achievements like a 'Good' inspection rating when on duty.

We'll cover your mileage when you travel over five miles from your main home, and if you're on duty at the time of an inspection and we achieve a Good' rating, you'll qualify for a bonus.

Qualifications Essential
A background in care is important, and a good understanding of elderly care is necessary. A Level 2 NVQ in Health & Social Care is useful, as well as a C or above in GCSE English and Maths. A full driving licence is required, and candidates need to have their own car or ready access to one for travel across the area.
