Job summary
This is a new full-time post in adult urological surgery based at the University Hospital of Wales, Heath Park, Cardiff.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide subspecialist practice in open and robotic pelvic cancer surgery and core oncology (radical cystectomy (robotic and open), robotic prostatectomy, exenterative surgery and non-muscle invasive bladder cancer) in addition to core urological services with a commitment to a 1 in 10 on-call rota.

Qualifications Essential
Full GMC / GDC registration with a licence to practise On Specialist Register for specialty / Specialty Registrar with CCT / CESR (Combined Programme) due within 6 months of interview date
Experience Essential
Full training in urology Broad range of general urological experience
Desirable
Subspecialist interests in robotic and open pelvic cancer surgery and non-muscle invasive bladder cancer
Teaching Essential
Evidence of teaching medical students and resident doctors
Clinical Governance Essential
Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice Evidence of proactive engagement with appraisal and revalidation (or equivalent)
Skills Essential
Evidence of effective team and multidisciplinary working
