Our Medicines Optimisation team is a compassionate, dynamic, and committed team
This is a post providing specialist mental health clinical pharmacist input to community mental health teams in Torbay; the English Riviera.
The successful candidates will have a full and comprehensive induction, with support and time to settle into their new role. There will opportunities to further develop your clinical knowledge and experience
Recruitment will be based on mental health experience, suitably qualified individuals will be appointed at band 8a.
Individuals with good clinical knowledge and experience but less specifically in mental health will be appointed at band 7 and supported to develop their mental health knowledge before progression.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will develop and provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service to Mental Health community teams in Torbay.
This will include developing connections with the local primary care (PCN) services and working with other mental health services when necessary (e.g. supporting inpatient admissions of local patient group)
This role will also include medication review, counselling, prescribing, audit, physical health engagement and training among other duties

Experience Essential
Demonstrate an up to date and detailed knowledge of relevant guidelines and clinical practice in speciality Experience of working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team / environment. Ability to supervise activities of pharmacy technicians and assistants. Managing change in a complex environment and evidence of having successfully implemented change. The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines where there are conflicting priorities.
Desirable
Evidence of involvement in change management and/or clinical service improvement. Experience of undertaking clinical audit. Experience of delivering training programmes
Qualifications Essential
Current registration as a Pharmacist General Pharmacy Council (GPhC). Evidence of Continuing Professional Development. Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy / therapeutics or equivalent clinical experience Certificate/Diploma or Masters in Psychiatric Pharmacy practice or equivalent clinical experience Independent Prescribing Qualification (or be working towards completion)

Member of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy RPS Advanced Practice Framework completed
