Main duties of the job We are offering a rare chance to step into a leadership role in a brand-new Childrens Residential Care Home in Wimborne. This role involves helping to shape a high-quality service for children with learning disabilities in a caring and empowering environment. We are looking for compassionate and dependable leaders ready to inspire and make a lasting difference in the lives of young people. Responsibilities include supporting daily routines, helping children learn life skills, and handling challenging behavior with empathy. You'll be involved in the creation of care plans and participate in supervisions and team meetings.

Your Role as a Team LeaderAs part of a team wholeheartedly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, youll provide consistent, compassionate support to children with learning disabilities, helping them feel safe, valued, and empowered. You will:

Build trusting, positive relationships with children and young people Support daily routines from school runs and mealtimes to play and bedtime Help children learn life skills and build their independence Work as part of a team to ensure children feel safe, secure, and cared for Support with writing care plans, routines, and completing risk assessments for the home and young people along with other additional responsibilities such as leading shifts Handle challenging behaviour calmly and with empathy, using a therapeutic approach Take part in fun, active days every day is different! Be part of the sleep-in rota, with an average of 4 sleep-ins per month (flexibility is essential) Conduct supervisions of staff and be part of the running of team meetingsAbout YouWere looking for an experienced and compassionate professional who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role, making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.You will be confident in leading by example, supporting your team, and creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive.To succeed in this role, you will:

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Working towards Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent, a full UK driving licence is required. Understanding or knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards is desirable.
