You will: Build trusting, positive relationships with children and young people Support daily routines from school runs and mealtimes to play and bedtime Help children learn life skills and build their independence Work as part of a team to ensure children feel safe, secure, and cared for Support with care plans, routines, and risk assessments (with training) Handle challenging behaviour calmly and with empathy, using a therapeutic approach
Main duties of the job As part of a committed team, you will provide support to children with learning disabilities, ensuring they feel safe and valued. Your role involves building positive relationships, supporting daily routines, and helping children learn life skills. You will work as part of a team to ensure the welfare of children and handle challenging behavior with empathy using a therapeutic approach. The position offers a salary starting at £14.50 per hour with the opportunity for higher pay if you hold a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare. Qualifications Essential
Applicants should be committed to completing an NVQ Level 3 (or above) in Residential Childcare and have a genuine interest in supporting children with learning disabilities. Experience is not required as training will be provided.
