Are seeking a salaried GP (ideally newly qualified) to work across 2 sites, Anfield Group Practice and Derby Lane Medical Centre,

Sessions: 8 sessions per week

Salary: negotiable depending on experience.

A Salaried GP works as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care while complying with the contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team. The role is to support, mentor, and supervise other healthcare professionals within the organisation and be an integral part of the general practice team.

Main duties of the job

You will provide high quality patient centred care through a mix of face to face consultations and telephone triage, managing a structured clinic of appointments across morning and afternoon sessions. The role includes assessing, diagnosing and managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, as well as supporting continuity of care for registered patients. You will work collaboratively with the wider clinical team, contributing to shared decision making and effect patient management. You will also utilise EMIS WEB to maintain accurate clinical records and support safe, effective delivery.

About us

Anfield Group Practice has a patient population of approximately 10,000 and is a training practice, Derby Lane Medical Centre has a patient population of approximately 4500.

You will be working with a team at Anfield Group Practice that consists of 3 GP partners (across both sites),1 salaried GP, 3 Practices Nurses, HCA, Practice Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, 5 receptionists, 6 administrators, also with the support of 2 PCN Clinical Pharmacists, Care Coordinator and Link worker.

Derby Lane Medical Centre consists of 2 Gp partners, 3 salaried GPs, Advanced Care Practitioner, 2 HCAs, 3 Practice Nurses, Office Manager, 9 receptionists/administrators, also with the support of 1 PCN Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician and Link worker.

PRIMARY KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP in delivering health services.

The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled populationThe provision of services commensurate with the primary care contractTo clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective and plan clinical care accordingly referring patients to other services/agencies in a timely manner, utilising Practice and any other local guidelinesGeneric prescribing adhering to local and national guidancePrioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency careEffective management of long-term conditionsTo support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-careProcessing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasksReview medications following the appropriate policies, NICE/local clinical guidelines and local care pathwaysMaintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidanceWork collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workloadAdhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit processSupport the delivery of anticipatory care plansContribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practiceAccept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOFAttend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as requiredContribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and trainingBe aware of your duties and responsibilities regarding current legislation and adhere to practice policies and procedures on Safeguarding Adults and Safeguarding ChildrenEnsure compliance with the appraisal processPrepare and complete the revalidation process to remain fit to practiceCommit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice teamReview and always adhere to practice protocols and policiesEncourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvementTo be an integral part of the general practice team as well as supporting the wider network and multi-disciplinary team

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Salaried GP has the following wider responsibilities:

Participate in the spectrum of clinical governance processesParticipate in formal training events promoting best practice in area of expertise Provide leadership and education for members of the multi-disciplinary team, providing guidance and support when necessary

Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

GMC registration and inclusion on the GP Register and Performers List. Legal right to work in the UK. Valid immunisation status, including Hepatitis B. Current experience in general practice with up-to-date appraisal/revalidation. Ability to engage effectively with patients and colleagues, including those with complex needs. Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Desirable

Experience developing services within a changing healthcare environment. Understanding of private general practice and integration with NHS systems. Knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards. Awareness of contracting, service performance monitoring, and delivery frameworks.
