Job summary
Caereinion Medical Practice are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Dispenser to join our friendly pharmacy team on a full time basis.
You must have an NVQ2 in Dispensing/Pharmacy Services (or equivalent), excellent communication and people skills, good IT skills and with a healthcare background.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for dispending and checking all medicines dispensed, safely and accurately and in line with dispensary procedures
Maintaining stock levels within the dispensary and ordering from suppliers as needed
Receiving and storing supplies in accordance with current policy.
Ensuring controlled drugs are dispensed with in accordance with practice policy
Safe disposal of returned and / or out of date medicines
Ensuring all repeat prescriptions are processed in a timely manner and in accordance with SOP.
Process prescription requests via email, phone, fax, face-to-face and online
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times
Maintain accurate records at all times, read coding entries appropriately

To be responsible for the processing of prescriptions in accordance with practice policy and extant legislation. In addition, the post-holder will be required to ensure a high-level of patient service is delivered at all times in order to offer an effective and efficient medication service.
This is a rewarding role working with a demographic aging population, who are appreciative of a good service and a friendly face.
You will be working with a very supportive and friendly pharmacy team consisting of a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians & dispensing team.

Qualifications Essential
Qualified Dispenser (NVQ Level 2) GCSE (or equivalent) English & Maths at Grade C or above Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Strong IT skills Clear, polite telephone manner Competent in the use of Office and Outlook Ability to promote best practice regarding all pharmaceutical matters Effective time management (Planning & Organising) Ability to work as a team member and autonomously Good interpersonal skills Problem solving & analytical skills Ability to follow policy and procedure Polite and confident Flexible and cooperative Motivated Forward thinker High levels of integrity and loyalty Sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations Ability to work under pressure Flexibility to work outside of core office hours Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check Evidence of continuing professional development Full clean driving licence with access to a car

Experience of working in a dispensary Experience of working in primary care Broad knowledge of General Practice Experience working with the general public/patients EMIS user skills Dispense-IT user skills Ability to effectively manage stock, including ordering, rotation, disposal etc.
