We provide a hybrid work model, employees must be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. There will be flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

AbbVie is seeking dynamic and motivated graduates or soon to be graduates to join our Legal team this summer. Our Legal team plays a critical role in supporting AbbVie's mission by providing expert legal counsel across a wide range of business functions. We are looking for a motivated and curious law student to join our team during the summer and gain practical experience in a dynamic in-house legal department.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to AbbVie's mission of transforming lives through innovative therapies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate key capabilities essential to driving the business and your career forward.

As a Summer Student in AbbVie's Legal Department in Montreal, you will work alongside experienced attorneys and legal professionals on substantive matters spanning Québec civil law, regulatory affairs, intellectual property, contract drafting and review, and compliance. You will operate in a bilingual French-English environment, reflecting the legal and commercial reality of Québec.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth legal research in pharmaceutical and regulatory law, intellectual propertyDraft and review contracts, legal memoranda, correspondence, and other legal documents under the supervision of a lawyerSupport attorneys in monitoring and analyzing legislative and regulatory developments relevant to AbbVie's operationsParticipate in compliance initiatives by reviewing internal policies and identifying areas for improvementCollaborate with cross-functional teamsPrepare presentations and summaries of legal research findings for internal stakeholdersAttend and contribute to team meetings, strategy sessions, and continuing education programs Available to complete the entirety of the internship starting May 4th, and ending August 14th, 2026. Currently enrolled in a recognized Québec law faculty offering civil law training (civil law program or combined civil law/common law program), having completed at least one (1) year of legal studies by the start of the internship. Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely in both languages.Strong academic record demonstrating analytical aptitude and intellectual rigorDemonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information.Authorization to work in Canada in accordance with applicable immigration laws.AbbVie strives to provide a French working environment for its employees in Quebec.
