About this role
Under direct supervision, the Service Processor I verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments of repairs and related items. Packages items and arranges for shipping. Receives, unpacks and distributes incoming repair/OCU (Operator Control Unit) shipments. Processes all repair orders including customer interface and record keeping for the service departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receives repairs and logs required information.
• Assures that shipping addresses and billing addresses are available and correct.
• Unpacks and processes all repairs and compares contents and packing slips. Creates and routes RMA's and returns to inventory and vendors.
• Processes equipment requiring retro.
• Verifies that all incoming and outgoing equipment is properly logged; and prepares outgoing repairs for shipment.
• Answers telephone calls and provides information regarding non-technical service related issues and handles all Helpdesk requests.
• Contacts customers to obtain purchase order numbers and information pertinent to service billing issues and special handling requirements.
• Verifies service departments' technicians have entered order text and parts used to the computer system. Proofreads and edits text for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format. Corrects errors as necessary.
• Arranges shipment via appropriate carrier for completed repairs.
• Assists other departments as necessary in resolving service related billing and order processing issues.
• Generates weekly reports on open activity in the service department.
REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to enter data into a computer.
• Ability to acquire basic product knowledge.
• Ability to use hand tools to pack shipments.
• Must have good verbal skills.
• Must be a competent in proofreading, editing, spelling, composition and possess a good vocabulary.
• Must be very well organized.
• Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
