Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Tool Room Technician to join our growing team.
This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Tool Room Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and organization of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and other tooling used in manufacturing processes. This role involves precise work and a deep understanding of tool functionality and maintenance procedures.
The following essential job functions are performed as a Tool Room Technician:
• Works with leadership to determine the required quantity of calibrated tools to support production and recommends tool purchases
• Ensures tools and equipment are calibrated to proper specifications
• Enters and tracks data through various data management systems for calibrated items
• Interacts with vendors who perform calibration to purchase / schedule tools to be calibrated / repairs / vendor quotes on cost and lead time
• Works within SAP ERP system to support purchases and service purchase requisitions and purchase orders
• Adheres to JIs QMS policies and procedures in performance of work
• Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedure to complete assigned tasks
• May occasionally perform final inspection of work completed by other technicians
• Performs inventory cycle counts as required for calibrated goods
• Ensures safe working practices are adhered to
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Behavior: The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
• Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
• Initiates non-conformance reports and segregates non-conformance tools / equipment to the MRB areas and works with QA for disposition
• Communicates with Management for continual improvement and product implementation
• Monitors compliance with policies and ensures best practices are adhered to
QUALIFICATIONS
• Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
• Prior experience in composite or fiberglass fabrication and repair is preferred
• Must have the ability to read, understand and follow work orders, written procedures, blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Wage range for this role is between $20 - $40 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
