About this role
Under the general direction of the Deputy Fire Chief and reporting directly to the Chief Fire Prevention Officer, the Fire Prevention Officer is responsible for the safe and efficient coordination, planning and support of all department fire prevention programs and for the conducting of inspections, investigations, public fire and life safety education, airport community education programs and public relations activities. The Fire Prevention Officer’s primary responsibility will be to enforce fire prevention regulations, conduct inspections on all types of new/existing buildings, and ensure conformity with applicable by-laws, codes, and regulations.
