The Deli Manager is a dynamic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of deli operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of food services, restaurant management, and sales, coupled with excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. The Deli Manager is expected to foster a positive work environment through effective coaching, training and development, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily deli operations, including food preparation, service, and customer interactions.
• Manage and motivate a team of deli staff, providing coaching and training to enhance performance.
• Implement and maintain food safety and sanitation protocols, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking, to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and improve customer service.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, including profit and loss (P&L) management, to achieve budgetary goals.
• Create and manage employee schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet customer demand.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict cleanliness standards.
• Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally, demonstrating excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with the management team on marketing initiatives to promote deli offerings.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience in restaurant management or food services, with a focus on deli operations.
• Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Working knowledge of inventory management and ordering procedures.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to coach and train employees.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• General knowledge of computer literacy, including point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Experience with profit and loss (P&L) management.
• Experience with marketing and promotional activities.
• ServSafe certification.
