About this role
The Director of Care (DOC) is a Registered Nurse certified with the College of Nurses Ontario (CNO), with additional specialized academic qualifications and experience, who provides education, coordination and supervision to nursing staff through expertise in Best Practices in gerontological and relevant clinical and management theory and practices. The Director of Care is responsible for management and leadership of resident care and is required to meet the needs and expectations of residents in accordance with standards and guidelines of the Long Term Care Homes Act, all aspects of an Infection Prevention and Control Program and a robust, progressive resident- focused Quality Management program.
