Visa is seeking a senior strategic finance director to join the North America (NA) Value‑Added Services (VAS) Finance team. As a Director within NA VAS Finance, this role will partner closely with senior NA VAS executive leadership, sales, product, and operations to shape our financial strategy. This role’s responsibilities include management of our financial planning and analysis (FP&A) rhythms, developing a value-in-kind (VIK) financial strategy, and delivering thoughtful financial insights. This position requires a candidate who excels at influencing stakeholders and can operate across a highly matrixed environment. Moreover, this role involves strategic planning, assessment, and oversight of VIK and non-cash contributions transactions to ensure they align with the company’s financial goals. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in strategic finance, investment analysis, and business partnering, with a proven ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning, Investment & Performance Management:
Lead annual operating plans, forecasts, and outlooks across a globally matrixed organizationEvaluate business performance, investments, and resource allocation, synthesizing insights for senior leadershipDeliver timely, accurate, decision‑relevant financial informationIdentify key drivers, risks, and opportunities; recommend actions to improve performance and ROIContinuously improve scalable processes for monthly and quarterly performance reporting and executive reviewsPartner with Financial Systems and Analytics teams to enhance and scale investment and cost analysis capabilitiesDrive finance thought leadership to improve analytical standards, efficiency, and decision qualityValue-in-kind (VIK) Strategic Financial Plan:
Develop and implement strategies to maximize the value of VIK partnerships and contributionsLiaise with Sales Ops, AEs, product leads across the company, and others as needed to budget and forecast VIK creation, inventory, and consumption (annual and multi-year plans)Partner and consult with deal teams to model and review VIK terms in client contractsOversee the accurate recording and reporting of VIK transactions in accordance with accounting standards and regulationsProvide trainings to key stakeholders to drive awareness, support change management, drive process effectiveness as needed.Strategic Advice and Executive Partnerships:
Act as a trusted finance partner to NA VAS leadership, delivering rigorous insights to inform long‑term strategy and enterprise decisionsMaintain deep understanding of NA VAS strategies, priorities, and performance drivers across products, regions, and functionsProvide forward‑looking analysis that links financial outcomes to business objectivesAlign financial frameworks and priorities with broader NA VAS, Global VAS, and Visa‑wide initiativesBuild strong, credibility‑based relationships across Finance, Product, Technology, and OperationsBusiness Engagement & Decision Enablement:
Support senior leaders on investment proposals, business cases, and strategic initiativesDeliver tailored, executive‑ready analysis and recommendations for diverse stakeholdersProvide clear perspectives on performance, investment trade‑offs, and resource allocationFacilitate informed discussions on budgets, spend, and investment prioritization to reinforce ROI disciplineDevelop and maintain financial tools and frameworks to support management decision‑makingTalent Development & Finance Leadership:
Mentor and coach finance team members to strengthen analytical rigor and professional growthCollaborate across finance to promote best practices, consistency, and high standardsContribute to a strong finance community by sharing expertise, frameworks, and insightsThis is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Basic Qualifications:
10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhDPreferred Qualifications:
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhDDeep experience in Financial Planning & AnalysisAdvanced level of Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, and other financial reporting systemsStrong executive presence and ability to influence senior executives and business partnersExceptional ability to lead and mentor a high performing finance team, driving engagement, and further develop the top talent within the Finance organizationAble to work effectively in a dual reporting matrix environmentAbility to work effectively with other functional areas and understand the operational and cultural issues relevant to achieving superior resultsSuperior problem solving, analytical and project management skills with ability to communicate effectively with executive managementClient focused with tenacity to resolve issues and conflicts with excellent interpersonal and people management skills Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 170,700.00 to 273,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
