About this role
The Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides operational ownership and execution leadership for complex, high‑risk Payments and SWIFT initiatives. The role operates across Product, Engineering, Vendors, and Operations, ensuring regulatory‑compliant, controlled, and operationally ready delivery of change impacting Payments and Treasury Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Payments & SWIFT Domain Ownership:
Act as the Payments and SWIFT SME for assigned initiativesOwn end‑to‑end understanding of SWIFT payment flows and lifecycleOperational Change Ownership:
Own the operational change workstream end‑to‑endServe as primary operational point of contact for cross‑functional deliveryOperational Improvements & Efficiency:
Identify and own operational inefficiencies within scopeDelivery Discipline & Execution Leadership:
Define scope, ownership, and delivery accountabilityEstablish RACI, manage dependencies, and track risksDocumentation, Readiness & BAU Handover:
Own quality of operational documentation and readiness artifactsDefine operational requirements and acceptance criteriaRisk, Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement:
Identify, document, and communicate operational risksSupport mitigation planning with Operations leadershipWhat Success Looks Like
Fast delivery on projects and initiatives. Anticipate and avoid future changes by ensuring we are standardising as we go. Ability to understand complex operations and flows. Skills & Experience:
Batchelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.Experience in operations within financial services, preferably with focus on payment systems, SWIFT, collections, safeguarding and FX transactions.Experienced working with project / agile delivery teams and cross functional ways of working. Technical understanding of SWIFT networks and ability to read and understand messaging types. Demonstrate analytical and systematic approach to problem solving. Hands on exposure to SWIFT networks and messaging. Visa is an EEO Employer.
