The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer / ServiceNow Senior Developer with 6+ years of hands-on experience in Python, C#, and Full Stack Development, with secondary expertise in ServiceNow platform development.
This hybrid role blends core software engineering excellence with ServiceNow platform development and integration, supporting Visa’s SaaS-driven, enterprise-scale technology landscape. The ideal candidate is a versatile technologist who enjoys working across multiple platforms, adapting to new tools and frameworks, and contributing to high-performance, secure, and scalable solutions in and around the ServiceNow ecosystem.
Essential Functions:
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade SaaS applications using Python, C#, JavaScript, and modern full stack technologiesLead and contribute to full lifecycle development including design, implementation, testing, and supportDevelop, customize, and enhance ServiceNow applications, workflows, and platform capabilities across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, SecOps, GRC, and custom applications.Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions, collaborating with product owners, architects, and business stakeholdersBuild and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, and supporting technologiesApply strong software engineering principles to ServiceNow development, ensuring upgrade-safe, maintainable, and performant solutionsPerform code reviews, design reviews, and technical mentoring to ensure quality and adherence to platform and enterprise standardsTroubleshoot complex system issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixesEnsure security, compliance, and governance by following platform best practices related to roles, ACLs, data access, and regulatory requirementsCreate and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and configuration guidesStay current with ServiceNow releases, SaaS platform innovations, and modern development practices, proactively recommending improvementsParticipate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, project planning, and cross-functional collaborationDemonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn and work on technologies beyond ServiceNow as business needs evolveThis is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
The Skills You Bring:
Core Technical Skills (Primary)
3+ years of professional software development experienceStrong proficiency in: Python, C# / .NET, JavaScript and Full Stack Development (frontend frameworks, backend services, APIs)Experience designing and building cloud-native, SaaS-based platformsSolid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systemsStrong database experience (SQL and/or NoSQL)ServiceNow Skills (Secondary)Hands-on experience with ServiceNow development and configurationProficiency with:

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.
