About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and resilient individual to provide high‑quality, customer‑focused administrative support within the Peninsula Medical School. You will be part of an enthusiastic and collaborative team working across Plymouth, Torbay and Somerset, all committed to delivering an excellent experience for our students and stakeholders.
As a Programme Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) and Physician Associate Studies programmes. Your work will directly contribute to the smooth delivery of the curriculum, assessments, and front‑line student services.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining accurate student records and assessment data Helping to resolve placement and assessment‑related queries Organising, attending and minuting meetings Updating programme documentation Preparing programme data and reports Communicating effectively with students, academics, clinicians and professional services colleagues.
You will work closely with Senior Programme Coordinators and contribute flexibly to the wider team as needed.
This role is primarily based in the student‑facing Faculty Office in the John Bull Building, Plymouth Science Park (Derriford), with occasional travel to the main University campus and other sites. The ability to travel between locations—some of which may not be easily accessible by public transport—is essential.

Experience working in a busy administrative or customer‑focused environment A flexible, proactive, and resilient approach to work Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines Excellent IT skills, particularly with spreadsheets and databases Confidence in identifying issues and implementing solutions Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills Strong teamwork and data‑reporting capabilities
Experience working in a medical, educational, or similar setting would be advantageous.
This is a part-time position working 18.5 hours per week Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, on a fixed-term basis until 31 December 2026 to cover a period of absence/maternity.
This role requires on‑site presence for at least two days per week. While hybrid working can be supported, flexibility to attend the office in line with business needs is expected.
