Position Summary and Primary Objectives: A temporary, interim role to lead the ANCL Chidren's Ministry While the church works to determine its long term needs and future bader profik requirements. Part-time (20 hours) 12-month CDD. Create and lead the team Of volunteers Which works together to accomplish the Purpose and Priorities of the Chidren's ministry amongst the chihren (birth to 14 years) and farnlies of our church Create a strong program and communlty within the Children's ministry that is well integrated into the larger church community. Our bottom line is to have: Good content (our priviege and responsibility) in the context of fun (the language of the children) With the aim to teach the curriculum with creativity and flexibility in a safe environment. We want the kids to come to really KNOW Jesus - not just know ABOUT Jesus. The CM leader will choose the curriculum in coordination with the Lead Pastor. Works with: Lead Pastor, other Staff, Leadership Team, Governing Board and Children's ministry team leaders, teachers, helpers, parents & KIDS. Direct supervisor: Lead Pastor Main Duties/Key Accountabilities: Build the CM leadership team to be effective and efficient in carrying out the ANCL mission and vision within the Children's Ministry. Create a strong sense of “team” within the ministry. Integrate the ministry into the larger church community. Delegate key accountabilities below to CM Leadership Team members as appropriate. Oversee recruitment and vetting of volunteers to work with the children - includes CM LT members, administrative support, teachers & helpers. Ensure assessment and training of volunteers who teach. Ensure that the children are in a safe environment. Order and organise materials to be used within the ministry. Schedule or delegate scheduling of volunteers for the different age groups each Sunday. Update and replenish materials and resources when necessary. Meet with volunteers regularly to plan, gain feedback and discuss issues related to Children's Ministry – i.e., discipline, food allergies, materials. Meet with the Lead Pastor and participate in Staff Meetings as requested. Report to Pastor, Leadership Team, and Governing Board. Keep teachers, helpers, and parents up to date with current schedules and procedures. Keep records of children's details, meeting minutes, contact lists etc. Provide training and appreciation to people in the ministry. Effectively manage ministry budget. Required training and/or experience: Prior experience working with children (preferably teaching and preferably in a church setting). At minimum, a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Administrative abilities. Team building and leading skills. Experience and comfort using online databases, platforms and applications (e.g., Planning Center Online, Mailchimp, MS/Google suite of applications). Personal Attributes & Skills: A team player and leader who interacts well with people - ability to work collaboratively, persuade others and come to a common approach. Interest in and desire to work with children. Ability to relate and communicate well with leaders, adults & children. Positive outlook. Self-motivated & committed to producing a consistent, positive outcome for kids, teachers / helpers & parents. Able to have difficult conversations when needed and persevere through challenges. Flexible and adaptable. Agree with ANCL's mission, vision and statement of faith, fully and without reservation. Skills: Diplomatic with strong communication skills. Fluent in English, written and spoken. Other languages (French, German, Luxembourgish) are a distinct advantage Well organised - good administrator.
