Senior Financial Controller (F/M) - Bank Reference: LU877402 Luxembourg Permanent Financial Services Apply now Our client, a well-established banking institution in Luxembourg, is looking for a Senior Financial Controller(F/M) to strengthen its Finance team. This role combines financial planning, performance monitoring and financial control activities. You will play a key role in supporting management decision-making while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Bank's financial information, particularly in relation to financing and notes issuance activities. Key Responsibilities : Financial Planning & Performance Analysis • Prepare and analyse monthly management reporting and analytical P&L. • Monitor financial performance across business activities and key client segments. • Participate in forecasting, budgeting and medium-term financial planning exercises. • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. • Develop and enhance financial dashboards and reporting tools using Power BI and other reporting solutions. Financial Control & Accounting Oversight • Oversee the accounting and financial monitoring of financing and notes issuance activities. • Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes. • Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial records. • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and regulatory reporting. • Support the production of FINREP and other regulatory reports. • Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and internal control requirements. Projects & Process Improvement • Contribute to finance transformation and process optimisation initiatives. • Participate in automation and reporting enhancement projects. • Support ad hoc financial analyses and strategic projects. • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and reporting quality. Candidate Profile : • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline. • Minimum 5 years of experience within a Big Four firm, banking institution or financial services environment. • Strong knowledge of IFRS standards, particularly financial instruments and banking products. • Experience in financial control, accounting, audit or financial reporting within a banking environment. • Knowledge of Lux GAAP and taxation would be considered an asset. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Technical Skills • Advanced Excel skills. • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools. • Good understanding of financial reporting and regulatory requirements. • Knowledge of SQL, databases or data analytics tools would be considered a strong advantage. Languages : • Fluent French and English, both written and spoken.
