We are looking for a Sample & Laboratory Support Technician to join our Laboratory Support team in York. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accurate receipt, processing, tracking, and shipment of samples within a GLP/GCP-regulated laboratory environment.
The position also provides operational laboratory support, including reagent preparation, consumable management, and equipment coordination. It offers a great opportunity for someone interested in developing experience across laboratory operations, compliance, and support systems within the pharmaceutical research industry.
Responsibilities Receive, reconcile, process, store, and ship laboratory samples in line with regulatory requirements Maintain accurate sample tracking and documentation within laboratory systems (e.g., LIMS) Coordinate and communicate with clients and courier services regarding sample shipments Prepare reagents and solutions required for laboratory work Support stock management of consumables, analytical standards, and control matrices Assist with stock takes, inventory monitoring, and expiry tracking Support laboratory organisation and operational efficiency Assist with preventative maintenance documentation and equipment coordination Support environmental monitoring systems and storage unit management Ensure all activities follow company SOPs and regulatory standards (GLP/GCP) Maintain accurate documentation and support audit readiness Provide general laboratory support across operational activities as requiredRequirements
Secondary school education required; A-levels in a relevant scientific subject preferred No prior laboratory experience required, though experience in a laboratory or regulated environment is advantageous Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to follow procedures and regulatory requirements accurately Good communication and teamwork skills Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently when required Willingness to learn and develop within laboratory operations Eligible to work in the UK
