About this role
The role focuses on developing backend services that aggregate and expose citizen data securely, ensuring performance, scalability, and compliance. The developer will work in a cloud-native environment, applying best practices such as Domain Driven Design (DDD), microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines, while collaborating closely with architects and teams. Responsibilities Develop and maintain Java-based backend services. Build scalable and performant microservices. Work with Spring Boot and modern frameworks. Architecture & Design Apply Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles API & Data Handling Must Have Experience in Java development (minimum 5 years – Senior level) Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security) (minimum 5 years) Experience with microservices architecture Experience with Hibernate / JPA / SQL (minimum 3 years) Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools Relevant education or certification in Java/J2EE Dutch language proficiency – CEFR C2 (Mandatory) NDA document submission required Should Have Experience leading development teams and coaching developers Strong programming skills (coding, testing, debugging) Experience with AWS (minimum 1 year) Experience with Docker (minimum 3 years) Experience with JMeter Experience with JUnit / AssertJ (minimum 3 years) Experience with OAuth2 / OIDC (minimum 3 years) Experience with Postman / Newman Experience with SOAP APIs Experience with Agile methodologies (lead role preferred) Knowledge of mobile application development
