Are you the Linux Devops engineer ready to take on the Eurozone ? Role description As a System & Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, operating, and evolving production-grade infrastructure. You will contribute directly to the reliability and performance of critical services, including authoritative DNS and domain registration systems. Key responsibilitiesInfrastructure and platforms Design, implement, and maintain highly available Linux-based infrastructures in datacentres Manage and evolve virtualization and containerisation platforms (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes), and contribute to private cloud environments Contribute to the design and evolution of infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, resilience, and lifecycle management DNS and registry services Operate and maintain large-scale authoritative DNS infrastructure Operate and maintain registry services in production, and manage deployments across environments Support domain registration services and associated backend systems (Java, Python, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ) Ensure high availability, performance, and security of core registry services Automation and observability Develop automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Ansible or Terraform Contribute to CI/CD practices and operational efficiency Monitor systems and services in production, ensuring early detection of incidents and performance issues Implement and maintain observability stacks (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, ELK, Graylog) Database platform operations Operate PostgreSQL infrastructure (replication, backups, monitoring, system-level performance) Collaborate with specialised external DBA providers for advanced database optimisation and tuning Networking and security Contribute to network infrastructure operations, including routing, firewalls, and traffic flows Support distributed systems and DNS-related network behaviour (including anycast environments) Work with enterprise architecture and security teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with regulatory and security requirements Collaboration and operations Work closely with development and security teams to ensure service reliability Participate in on-call rotation to support 24/7 service availability Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of systems and processes Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry practices Your profileEducation and experience Degree in computer science, IT, or a related field 5+ years of experience in system or infrastructure engineering roles, with strong hands-on experience in production environments Technical skills Strong foundation in Linux (RHEL derivatives such as AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux Experience with virtualization and containerisation technologies (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes), and exposure to private cloud platforms (e.g. OpenStack-based solutions) Experience with automation and IaC tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Rundeck Solid scripting and programming skills (e.g. Python, Bash), with the ability to develop automation and understand application code Experience operating DBMS (such as PostgreSQL) infrastructure (replication, backups, monitoring), in collaboration with DBA services Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing concepts, BGP basics), knowledge of networking and security technologies (e.g. Juniper, Palo Alto) is a plus Good understanding of DNS, including authoritative DNS and DNSSEC principles Experience with identity and access management solutions Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, ELK, Graylog) Familiarity with CI/CD and collaboration tools such as Atlassian (Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence), GitLab, and Nexus Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions such as Commvault is a plus Soft skills Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex environments Strong sense of ownership and accountability Service-oriented and pragmatic mindset Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across teams and share knowledge Curious, proactive, and eager to learn and improve Structured and diligent, with attention to documentation and quality Good communication skills in English
