About this role
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Architect, develop, implement and support/maintain interfaces that enable the exchange of patient and lab data between hospital systems (such as HIS and EHR) and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).Productivity expectations for a Corepoint Interface Engineer include:Development of 3-4 concurrent interface projects, 10-15 projects yearly.Complete an interface project in 90 days, or as quickly as possible given lab/client resources and competenciesHandle a proportionate share of support tickets for Corepoint environment.Collaborate with stakeholders including clinical laboratory staff, hospital IT teams, and vendors to define requirements and technical specifications, and clearly set and maintain expectations, challenges, and proposed solutions.Implement industry-standard protocols and data formats, such as HL7, JSON or XML, to ensure interoperability between systems.Troubleshoot and resolve interface-related issues, ensuring timely and accurate data flow between systems.Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for interface development and integration, without flaws, taking into account the specific needs and idiosyncrasies of each lab and hospital/medical practiceConduct testing and quality assurance to validate interfaces, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and integrity.Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring efficient and reliable interface operations.Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, regulations (HIPAA, etc.), and best practices for patient data security.Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and other ongoing development efforts as needed.Communicate project status and issues to the management and other stakeholders through meetings, emails and key documents.Interact and clearly communicate with clients, industry peers, software support teams, and ELE staff as required.
