About the role
An opportunity has become available for a Production Technician with a specialty as Diesel Mechanic to join our Maintenance & Planning division The Barker Inlet Power Station comprises 12 reciprocating diesel engines capable of generating approximately 18 MW of output each. The Torrens Island Power Station comprises three units with gas fired boilers and 200MW steam turbines.
In this role, you will be responsible for the smooth operations of this plant including: daily diagnosis, inspections, repairs and routine maintenance.
Key responsibilities
• Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environment Systems and goals are introduced and adhered to. • Ensure quality standards meet planned maintenance and operational requirements. • Review, plan, resource, organise and coordinate all relevant preventative maintenance & repair works. • Act as a subject matter expert and provide direction to other Technicians & Contractors as required. • Ensures the availability and reliability of the Power Station as required. • Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties utilising other skills across the Barker Inlet & Torrens Island Power Stations.
About you
You are an established Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Diesel Fitter with sound knowledge and understanding of how an engine works with exceptional trade skills. Your experience with large bore machines and your willingness to learn will help you excel in this position.
In addition to the above, you will have:
• Experience with performing maintenance routines, fault finding and repairs. • Solid understanding of Permit to Work systems with the ability to become a Recipient in Charge (RIC). • Proven ability to work as a team member and actively contribute. • A commitment to conduct all activities with safety at the forefront of mind. • Mechanical Trade qualifications or experience commensurate with the role
