FTE: 1 FTE (working 37 hours per week or job share may be considered)

Duration of Contract: Fixed term for 2 years

Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield with some opportunities for hybrid working

This is a brand new role which will support the expanded provision of training, enabling consistency and responsiveness with regards the allocation of placements for trainee clinical psychologists.

The successful applicant will work as part of a friendly, ambitious and enterprising Team who deliver excellent training and continue to develop the programme in innovative and creative ways.

Main duties and responsibilities

To take a central role in the organisation, co-ordination and monitoring of clinical placements for trainee clinical psychologists, ensuring alignment with professional standards and university regulations. The postholder will support efficient placement allocations, maintain accurate data, and liaise closely with a range of stakeholders including trainees and NHS partners including placement leads, supervisors and administrative teams. The postholder will ensure that trainees’ learning needs and individual circumstances are fully considered and appropriately communicated within placement processes.

The Placement Coordinator, Doctorate in Clinical Psychology will work closely with the programme’s leadership team and the School’s wider placements team, though they will also be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy in carrying out their responsibilities. They will maintain accurate and timely completion of records to support quality assurance and reporting processes, whilst also identifying process improvements.

Skills and experience required

You will have experience of building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, working compassionately and transparently with others. You will also have experience of managing complex administrative processes across multiple stakeholders, and problem-solving issues as they arise, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to team and workload requirements. You will have experience with taking a methodological approach with good attention to detail. You will be comfortable working with sensitive material and with high levels of confidentiality. You will be effective in a team setting and demonstrate tact and diplomacy in your work with others.

Qualifications required

You will be educated to a minimum of a degree level or equivalent standard in a field relevant to human relations or people management.
